Taxis, app-based rides, rental cars and island ferries support local exploration.

Best Time and Weather

When to Visit

Malaysia has a tropical climate, with lowland temperatures generally between 23°C and 33°C. December to March often suits western destinations such as Langkawi and Penang, while March to September is generally favourable for east coast islands including Redang and the Perhentians. The northeast monsoon can bring heavy rain to the east coast from November to March. Cameron Highlands is cooler year-round.
