Getting to and Travelling Around

Getting Around

Thailand is connected internationally through airports in Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai. Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang are Bangkok's principal airports. Domestic flights, trains and buses connect major destinations. Bangkok offers metro services, taxis and river boats; tuk-tuks and app-based rides are common in tourism areas. Ferries and speedboats link popular islands.

Best Time and Weather

When to Visit

Thailand is tropical, with many lowland areas experiencing temperatures of about 24°C to 35°C. November to February generally offers cooler, drier weather across much of the country. March to May is hotter, while May to October is rainy in many regions. Gulf islands such as Koh Samui have different rainfall patterns, so the best time depends on the itinerary.
